Rapid Analysis of New and Used Lithium-ion Battery Separators with the Agilent Cary 630 FTIR Spectrometer
In this application note, the Cary 630 FTIR spectrometer was used to analyze both a new, pristine lithium-ion battery separator and an aged, used separator. The Cary 630 FTIR successfully identified the two separator samples as polypropylene and polyethylene. Additionally, it facilitated the examination of potential contaminants originating from other components within the used separator. Notably, the automatic color-coding of results turns the Cary 630 FTIR into a user-friendly, turnkey solution that enables quick decision-making.
